*Richmond is an independent city and not part of any county. There is a Richmond County, Virginia, some 50 miles from Richmond City, but the two are not connected in any way.
Oakwood Cemetery was established in 1854 on 60 acres of land. It has grown through the years, but no longer has the good maintenance it once had. It is owned by the city.
