LETTER THREATENS MURDER

Non-Union Man at St. Charles Gets a
Letter Telling Him to Keep Out
of the Mines

OR HIS LIFE WILL BE THE FORFEIT

John Gilliland, of St. Charles, has received a letter telling him he will be murdered if he accepts work in the mines at that place, which, like all other mines in Hopkins county, are operated exclusively by non-union miners. A fac simile cut made from a photograph of this anonymous letter, and therefore a perfect reproduction of the letter, is printed in these columns and the literal translation of the letter given.
