Gilliland's Liniment "card", Danvers, Mass., late 1800's:

I'm not sure what purpose was served by this advertisement; it is too large (3-3/8 x 5-1/8) and too thin to be what I consider a standard trading card. Neither does it appear to have been a bottle label. Charles H. Gilliland was listed in the Salem (Mass) directory of 1886 as a butcher and producer of Amixion Liniment. His shop and/or house was listed as 70 Holten, Tapleyville.
Our webmaster, Carmen Carter, has cleaned up the image as the original had some water damage. She's also scanned the image so it may be printed out as as postcards and the like.
