Bill Gilliland's Family Album

This is a photo of my Grandpa Bill [William Edgar Gilliland] taken in front of the store gas pump. Picture was taken mid-May, 1952 about six weeks before he died. Please zoom in on the pump. Price of 3 gallons of gas was $1.00. Those were the good old days.

Grandpa Bill was one of the most respected men in the community, never refusing his store goods to anyone even when they had no money to pay. My father, as his executor, found that he was owed over $10,000. These debts were excused. Dad eventually sold the farm (130acres) and Alma moved to New Boston [in Scioto County] to be close to her daughter, Verta.
